server-side flag questions

Postby sonofdad » Wed Sep 20, 2017 7:59 pm

was wondering if anyone could provide more detail on what exactly the -ssc flag does when importing/exporting a DBF to/from a DMBS?

all i can find in the help is this: "this flag enables server-side cursor. If it's is omitted, the database cursor is client-side (by default)"

i've searched the forum here and haven't found any additional info.

thanks!

Hello, thanks for your question!
Server side cursor is the option that is being used when the export or import process cannot be executed without it (e.g., on export to some of old versions of MySQL). In simple, if your export process occurs smoothly - you don't need to turn this option on.
