Error: Memo file is missing or is invalid.

Postby kurtis » Thu Sep 23, 2010 3:23 am

Hello,

Thank you for creating this software. It looks like a great solution to working with aging systems.

I am having a problem loading my data files. The files are created from a 3rd party application but are saved in the DB IV format according to the first byte in the files which has the value of 8B.

When I attempt to open a .dbf file from your program, it looks for the matching .dbt file. Unfortunately, I do not have any .dbt files to go with this data. So when it attempts to load, I get the error: "Memo file <filename> is missing or is invalid".

If you have any suggestions on how to fix or get around this problem, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks a lot,
-Kurtis

Hi, Curtis.
I need the file to see it's hex header.
Or you can try to change the first byte yourself according to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa975386%28VS.71%29.aspx - 0 byte offset.
Feel free to ask a question - I'll try to help in anyway!
